Melissa Staab

Originally from Ventura County, Ms. Staab is a true jack of all theater trades. She began dancing and performing at the age of 4 and has been gracing the stage for over 25 years. Ms. Staab performed in Stephen Sondheim's 75th Birthday Concert at the Hollywood Bowl, and at the Happiest Place on Earth as a dancer in many of the classic Disney Parades. She is a proud Musical Theater graduate from the University of CA, Irvine. Most recently, her focus has primarily been behind the scenes as a successful Director, Stage Manager, Choreographer, and Adjudicator. Ms. Staab's award-winning choreography and direction can be seen all over Southern California. In 2016 she won the MACY Award for “Best Choreography” for her work on Urinetown out of 49 productions across Orange County. Under her role as Director of Theatre Arts at Redondo Union High School, Ms. Staab’s first musical broke all current box office and attendance records that were previously at the school, and the record has been broken with our 2022 production of Mamma Mia, with our 2023 production of Les Miserables AND most recently AGAIN with Beauty & the Beast! The program continues to thrive with multiple nominations and awards at various festivals and conferences across Southern California. Ms. Staab was also recently named the 2023 Redondo Union High School Teacher of the Year!

In her spare time, Ms. Staab enjoys traveling, spending time with family and friends, and of course, seeing live theatre. This summer 2024 she spent two weeks in Greece, Italy and New York! She is proud to be a Sea Hawk, and looks forward to continuing to spread the message of “Safe – Trust – and Pixie Dust”. Let’s make some theatrical magic and memories as we work together to spread our passion for Performing Arts!
